Oh well, facing the computer is the last thing I want to do when I reach home!
Bear came to lounge around in my office just now. My colleagues were silent for a moment and started to take turns to come downstairs to meet him. Ridiculous people!
On another note, watched 'Pirates of the Caribbean 3' just now. Entertaining effects but let's just say that some things are just better when you start and end it in one movie.
Sequels (or rather prequels - an alternative solution when filmmakers ran out of ideas for sequels) are mostly disappointing nowadays. It's just a revenue outlet for filmmakers. Don't get me wrong, 'Pirates 3' aint bad (anything with Johnny Depp's sorta difficult to suck. Except for 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. God!)It's just OK, as of many sequels. They don't complete the story of the previous instalments, in fact, they wear off the calibre of the orginial films.
'Lord of the Rings' trilogy is an exceptional exception. You look at ALL THREE and you'll see it as ONE movie, telling ONE epic story. Every detail and element is taken care of. I walked out of the theatre feeling impressed each time I finished the movie.
Just like many things in life: Short-term glory lasts longer that prolonged mediocrity. Fireworks leave greater impressions that a burning candle.
